About Liam
I'm a professional software engineer at a major bank with a Computer Science degree from The George Washington University. I use the logic and problem-solving skills tested on the SHSAT every single day in my career, and I love showing students that these skills lead somewhere real. I have a year of one-on-one support experience from GWU's tech support office, where I worked with more than 20 people daily, and I currently mentor junior engineers at work. I'm calm, patient, and focused on building both skill and confidence under exam pressure. I'm a software engineer at one of the largest banks in the country, where I work with AWS and cloud infrastructure in production daily and serve as my team's subject-matter expert on Terraform. I hold AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS Certified Generative AI Developer – Professional, AWS Cloud Practitioner, Terraform Associate, KCNA (Kubernetes), and Azure Fundamentals certifications, and I have a Computer Science degree from The George Washington University. I also have real teaching instincts: I run weekly learning sessions for my engineering team and previously spent a year doing one-on-one technical support at GWU.

My lessons focus on building real understanding rather than rote procedure. We start with where you actually are — not where the syllabus says you should be — and shore up any shaky foundations before moving forward. I use lots of questions, real-world examples, and connections to things you actually care about, and as someone who turned math skills into a technology career, I can give a genuinely good answer to "when will I ever use this?" Lessons are structured around your coursework and goals, whether that's catching up, getting ahead, or building confidence for exams. Available online or in person in NYC.
Whether you're targeting Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect Associate or Professional, or another AWS exam, I structure lessons around three things: understanding the services deeply, recognizing how exam questions are actually constructed, and connecting everything to real production use cases so the knowledge sticks. I've prepared for and passed these exams myself, so I know the study strategies, question styles, and common traps firsthand. We can also do hands-on lessons — building serverless architectures, writing Terraform, working with real AWS environments — for learners who want practical skills, not just a certificate.
