About Penny
I am a senior fashion design mentor and womenswear consultant with over 40 years of industry experience and 17 years teaching at university and pre-degree level. I currently teach on BA (Hons) programmes and short courses at London College of Fashion and the University for the Creative Arts. My industry background includes senior and consultancy roles with leading UK and international fashion brands. I am a hands-on, warm and supportive educator, committed to helping students build confidence and create strong, well-resolved portfolios.

My lessons are structured, supportive and process-led, focusing on how ideas are developed from initial research through to resolved design outcomes, drawing on over 40 years of industry experience and 17 years teaching in higher and further education. Sessions focus on design development, research, portfolio building, garment understanding and industry expectations. Lessons typically last 60–90 minutes and are tailored to BA (Hons), foundation and serious pre-degree students, as well as motivated younger learners aged 16+ preparing portfolios or university applications.
