About Paul
I am a longtime newspaper journalist with 20 years experience before becoming a public school teacher. I am a native of Houston, Texas and am in my 16th year of teaching, 14th ESL. All of those years were with Humble ISD. Additionally, I have extensive experience working with special education students in the general education classroom and 10 years teaching dyslexia in a small-group setting. Moreover, I taught ESL at the community college level for three years and participated in a volunteer ESL program in which I taught adults English in Poland during the summer of 2024.
I graduated from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas with a major in journalism and double minor in English/history.

My students have gone from virtually zero English to attending major universities such as the University of Houston, University of Texas Austin and UT Dallas. I am known for being able to connect with my students. Moreover, I excel at meeting students' needs and forming long-lasting relationships.
