About Charlene
I graduated from college with a bachelor's degree in music education but had to take a desk job. I retired after 35 years and am now pursuing my first love of music education. I gave private lessons for 8 years and band lessons for 2 years before my desk job. I have taught ages 6 to 60. Music theory was always a part of my teaching. I can help you with a complete course or tutor you to pass your current one. Or just provide the basics needed in playing an instrument.

I would base my teaching on your current status in music. If you need a complete course, I would set up a lesson plan for each chapter based on a current theory book. If you need tutoring help, you would provide me the problem areas and we would work on those. If you just need basics for instrument playing, we would talk about your instrument, what level and type of music you are playing, and your goals.
I like to involve my students in the lesson planning in order to make sure I am covering the student's needs and goals. That way I can make examples relevant to the specific student.
