About Terry

Member of Lion's band in high school. Retired from the Mississippi Army National Guard Band in 2006. Have played in the countries of Taiwan, Hawaii, Bolivia, and Brazil. I have played with the USM concert bands, jazz bands, on all low brass instruments.

About the class

My name is Terry Whittington. Retired from Army bands system. Have given lessons to beginners to advanced level students. I am a member of the International Trombone Association, and the British Trombone Society. Have studied with Dr. Marta Hofacre at the University of Southern Mississippi. Was a member of the Mississippi Lion's All-State Band in 1987. I use various methods that were taught to me from USM. Would just like to share my experiences and pass on a little knowledge. Have an AA in Music Education, BA in Applied Management, MS in Elementary Education, and am currently working towards an Ed.D. in Adult Learning.

Edward was very involved in wanting to take trumpet lessons. Very easy going and willing to learn and work hard to achieve his goals. Will enjoy listening and watching him grow as a great jazz trumpeter.
