About Shannon
From my time teaching in schools, I have found that a lot of students struggle with Physics, at GCSE level in particular. This can be due to there being a lot of mathematical calculations and difficult concepts combined, and I felt the same when I was at school.
I achieved a grade B in Physics at school and went on to study it at university, graduating with a 2:1 masters degree. I have been in that position of most students, I made a lot of mistakes and did not know how to approach studying in a way that would help me. However, this means that I now know the common misconceptions and how to spot them as well as some key revision tips that will actually make a difference and I plan to pass those on to anyone that needs them.
I believe that I can help students feel better going into a Physics class, or an exam, with some personalised support from a grade B student that became a Physics teacher herself!

Teaching is personalised to the needs of the individual student. Through my tutoring, I will identify where prior knowledge is lacking and tackle those issues step by step with repeated exam-like questions to help prepare for anything that might come up!
I have spent the last year teaching Physics, and other sciences at below GCSE level, in secondary schools including full classes based around revision questions, tips and tricks. Maths can also be included in these lessons as a lot of Physics revolves around calculations and many students struggle with this aspect.
Lessons can vary from 1 hour - 1 hr 30 mins and are primarily for GCSE-level and above students. However, I can help with lower level students from ages 11-14 with general science/maths tutoring needs with 30 mins - 1 hour sessions.
