About Thomas
Hello everybody!
My name is Tom and I live in a little town in Devon called Dartmouth. I loved studying Physics and Maths at school (so much so I am doing Physics at Durham University now). Along with my academic work I have always been a big rugby player and have played for Bath Rugby U18 which was a privilege and an honour.
The reason I love these subjects that others struggle with is due to how I understand them, and I would love to share these insights with people, other than grumpy old physics professors, to help inspire someone. I know that Physics and Maths may seem daunting at first (I know it did for me) but as I found in year 8 one good teacher can change it all and I hope to be that person for you. I was never predicted good grades until year 9 because I didn't understand how teachers explained ideas and concepts but I found through simplifying problems by using a few simple rules these subjects are a lot more understandable then they first appear.

I believe the best way to assess whether a student truly understands a subject is through past paper questions. Therefore, I will usually begin our sessions going through past papers and flag up areas where the student has struggled. We will then focus on these areas through detailed explanation and more questions till the student feels confident. Once all the areas are improved on, we will go through another past paper and repeat the process.
