About Mia
I am experienced at helping students with their English and Philosophy studies.
I worked as a classroom assistant at Castle Hill Primary School I helped the students complete classwork in a variety of subject areas. I excelled at giving reading and writing assistance, and resultantly I was given the responsibility of taking students aside for additional reading lessons. One of the students in the class was Polish and struggled with reading when the year began, but by the end she had improved significantly.
I worked in Thailand teaching English as a second language. The children in my class quickly improved in their spoken and written language skills and were well-equipped to take their exams.
As a Camp Counselor at Camp Hayo-Went-Ha in Northern Michigan I led three cabins of campers over the course of the summer in daily activities and camping excursions to the Sleeping Bear Dunes, North Manitou Island and Lake Superior Provincial Park.
As a classroom assistant at Ipswich Nursery School, I assisted the teacher one afternoon a week in classroom tasks and activities. As these young children primarily learnt through play, my role involved keeping the children safe while assisting them in developing new skills and being confident in themselves.

I am a recent graduate from the University of Edinburgh, where I achieved a 1st class degree in Philosophy. While at University, I wrote for numerous student newspapers including The Student, the U.K.'s oldest student newspaper. I hope to help students improve their ability to communicate their thoughts clearly and succinctly.
Teachers and tutors play such an integral role in boosting the student's confidence academically improving their performance in coursework and exam.
I have studied Philosophy in the continental and analytic traditions and would be confident in tutoring students in studying for their Philosophy GCSEs and A Levels.
I am experienced tutoring younger students in reading and writing and would be eager to do so with Superprof.
