About Ethan
I have been a tutor on and off for over seven years, dating back to when I was in high school tutoring my peers and continuing into university where I tutored at the high school and early university level.
I have successfully been a tutor to all levels of students, both those who are struggling with a subject and need substantial help as well as someone who is looking for just some slight practice and preparation for upcoming important exams.
My goal is to not only improve your grades, but to improve your confidence moving forward in all aspects of the subject.

My methodology revolves primarily around the review and teaching of material with key comprehension and practice questions to reaffirm concepts.
A typical lesson plan involves presenting the material of focus in my own words, attempting to teach the content in a second time differently from your own instructors, with the one-on-one benefit of being able to stop, answer questions in a non-intimidating environment, check in consistently, and re-evaluate.
After reviewing the material necessary, practice questions and conceptual questions to reaffirm confidence and familiarity in the students own words and actions, as well as to identify any further issues or misunderstandings
Ultimately, the lesson plan is flexible and will be tailored to match the needs of the student such that it is the best use of time for them and their goals.
Typically my lessons place more emphasis on comprehension, and are better suited for people to strengthen concepts and content as they go through a course (either high school or university) as opposed to last second test/quiz prep. However, preparation for assessments is something that I can provide during my time with you.
What sets me apart as a tutor is the fact that up until August, I myself was a student. I understand the student life and the way of approaching courses. I have years of recent experience in preparing for my own exams, navigating a course load, and balancing the priorities of how to spend time with concepts vs practice.
