About Sydney
Just like you, I have been a student for my whole life! Having just completed my academic journey (for now) with a degree in biomedical engineering at Georgia Tech, I am eager to help other students accomplish their goals. I know that school can be tough, demoralizing, and discouraging. But you are only one understanding away from success and even enjoying what you are learning!
Throughout my time at Georgia Tech, I have worked with younger students on math and science. Each week, I traveled to different schools across Atlanta with demonstrations and lessons to help students understand and enjoy the topics they struggled with. Think of me as your academic "big sister", here to support you at your own pace and in your own learning style!

My approach to teaching is to help students gain confidence by actually understanding concepts that can benefit them in higher levels of school, rather than memorizing and forgetting. As a recent Georgia Tech grad, I am familiar with which concepts are foundational for higher learning, and thus need extra attention.
During our lessons, my focus would be understanding the learning style of the student, as well as the areas that are most challenging them. I recognize that each student learns differently and I am equipped to present information in different ways, whether visually, audibly, or through demonstration. One size does not fit all, and the lesson will be tailored to the pace and style of the individual student.
As a near-peer, I have recently experienced the challenges of middle and high school students, and am prepared to work with modern curriculum. I am here to be an academic "big sister" to any student looking for a bit of extra help!
