About Damion
I am a recent college graduate with a bachelor's degree in both Physics and Mathematics from Albion College. I have experience with one-on-one teaching as I worked as a teaching assistant for two semesters while in college. As a teaching assistant, I gained experience working with those that do not have a lot of experience in mathematics and I held a lot of drop-in hours so students could work with me one-on-one.

Throughout my years as a student the number one subject that I hear fellow students say they struggle with is mathematics. I believe that this is due to most math teachers being so used to the specific styles of problems that they teach, they forget the struggle of learning how to do it. It has become second nature for them. Thus I strive to make Mathematics approachable. I do this by having my students go through a 4-step process. 1. I explain what the goal is in a particular problem and why we wish to accomplish this. 2. I give a step-by-step guide and walk through a problem with them. 3. I give a new problem in which they use that step-by-step guide to guide me through the problem. 4. I have them go through problems without me as the best way to learn math is by doing math.
