As a former French and Spanish teacher, I’ve had the privilege of sharing my passion for language and culture with students from diverse backgrounds. My journey in education has been driven by a love for communication and an enthusiasm for helping others discover new ways to express themselves. Over the years, I have developed a variety of teaching methods that cater to different learning styles, ensuring that each student can grasp the intricacies of language at their own pace. Now, as I transition into the role of a tutor, I'm excited to build more personalized and engaging learning experiences.
Throughout my career in education, I have had the enriching experience of working in independent day and boarding schools, where I specialized in preparing students for GCSE and A-level examinations. This role allowed me to foster a deep understanding of the curriculum and develop tailored strategies that cater to diverse learning styles, ensuring that each student maximizes their potential. My tenure as the lead for the KS3 and 4 Spanish curriculum was particularly rewarding, as it enabled me to design engaging lesson plans that not only met educational standards but also ignited a passion for language learning among students.
My journey in language education was further enhanced by my time working in a Spanish school in Valencia. Immersing myself in the culture and language profoundly shaped my teaching methodology, as I was able to integrate authentic materials and real-world experiences into my lessons. This not only enriched my own understanding of the Spanish language but also allowed me to share a vibrant cultural perspective with my students.
I hold a degree in French and Spanish from the University of Nottingham, which laid a solid foundation for my linguistic expertise and teaching approach. As a qualified teacher, I have always prioritized creating a supportive and stimulating environment that encourages students to express themselves confidently in both languages. My goal has always been to inspire a love for languages in my students, equipping them with the skills necessary for their academic and personal growth.
