About Amelia

Hello! My name is Amelia, and I'm a qualified Primary School Teacher (QTS). Teaching has always been the career I wanted to pursue, and it's something I am genuinely passionate about. There is nothing more rewarding than watching a child grow in confidence, overcome challenges and achieve something they once thought they couldn't do. Seeing that progress is the reason I love teaching.

I qualified in 2025 and have over five years of experience working in primary schools through my teacher training, placements and professional teaching experience. During university, I specialised in Art, which has inspired me to make my lessons as creative, engaging and enjoyable as possible. I believe children learn best when they are interested, challenged and having fun.

Outside of teaching, I am very family-orientated, and I understand how important it is for parents to feel confident that their child is supported, encouraged and listened to. I pride myself on building positive relationships with both children and their families, creating a calm and welcoming learning environment where every child feels valued.

Whether your child needs help building confidence, catching up with learning or reaching their full potential, I am committed to helping them enjoy learning and celebrate every success along the way.

About the class

As a qualified Primary School Teacher (QTS), I offer personalised 1:1 and small group tutoring for children in Reception through to Year 6. Every lesson is tailored to your child's individual needs, whether they need support building confidence, closing learning gaps, preparing for SATs, improving phonics, or being challenged to reach greater depth.

Before lessons begin, I ask parents to complete a short questionnaire so I can understand your child's strengths, areas for development and learning goals. Where possible, I also look at your child's school's curriculum to ensure lessons complement what they are learning in class.

My lessons are engaging, supportive and interactive, using a range of practical activities, games and age-appropriate resources to keep children motivated. I believe children learn best when they feel confident and encouraged, so I create a calm, positive environment where mistakes are seen as part of learning.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes long and can be delivered face-to-face in the Skelmersdale area or online anywhere in England. Parents receive regular updates on their child's progress along with recommendations for continued learning at home.

Summer booster sessions are also currently available. These give your child a head start before September with targeted lessons designed to build confidence, strengthen key skills and prepare them for the next school year.
