About Dr Alexander

I am a qualified medical doctor with two years of NHS training across Emergency Medicine, Acute Medicine, General Surgery, Gastroenterology, Orthopaedics and Psychiatry.

I attended Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, where I completed my MBBS, scoring in the top 15% in my fourth year examinations. I also took an intercalated MSc in Clinical Endocrinology, for which I was awarded a Distinction.

Before Barts, I attended Westminster School, where I achieved 12 A*s in my GCSEs and took A-Levels in Maths, Biology, Chemistry, and English Literature. I took the UCAT myself, scoring in the top 10% of candidates.

I have also been tutoring extensively since 2018, and have helped over 150 students achieve their goals across a range of subjects.

About the class

I have over 8 years of tutoring experience and have helped numerous students secure places at top medical schools, including King’s College London and Barts. My approach is tailored to each student’s individual needs, focusing on building confidence, strengthening knowledge, and developing the skills needed to succeed in the highly competitive medical school application process.

I provide comprehensive support at every stage of the application process. For UCAT preparation, I focus on developing effective techniques, improving timing, and building confidence through practice questions and detailed explanations. My students have achieved excellent UCAT results, with my three most recent students scoring 2160, 2560 (top 1%), and 2210, respectively.

I also have extensive experience supporting medical and dental applicants with their Personal Statements. I help students identify and articulate their motivations for pursuing their degree, highlight relevant work experience and extracurricular activities, and reflect on the skills and qualities that make them suitable candidates. Having achieved an A* in A-Level English, I have a strong command of written communication and a keen eye for detail.

For interview preparation, I help students structure their answers, communicate their motivation for studying medicine, and give honest and constructive feedback where necessary. With six years of medical school experience, two years in clinical practice, and experience conducting mock medical school interviews, I provide practical guidance on what interviewers look for and how to perform confidently.
