I am a highly experienced Further Education teacher with 5 years' experience and a successful proven track record. I teach English Language GCSE, Functional Skills (Entry - Level 2) and Creative Writing. I cover various exam boards including AQA, OCR and Pearson. I also teach KS3 & KS4. Teaching in a college has allowed me to hone my skills as an educator. I am incredibly enthusiastic and passionate about my subject, which helps motivate my students. I am used to teaching classes up to 30 students but also have provided 1-1 tuition with students in need of intervention. Fostering creativity is a focus point in my teaching as I am a published author and have been writing since the age of 10. Creative Writing makes up 50% of the GCSE exam and with my unique approach to helping students plan, write and edit stories, students have achieved excellent results. I provide spelling, punctuation and grammar intervention workshops and support with reading comprehension. I have in-depth knowledge of delivering Functional Skills (AQA & Pearson) from Entry Level 1 to Level 2. Last year, of a cohort of 60 students, 78% of my students gained a FS qualification. I also teach a Creative Writing course to adults. This course helps learners develop their basic writing skills and create compelling narratives.
