About Yevette
Hi, I’m Yevette — trainer, owner-trainer, and the human behind YoPaws. YoPaws was born from lived experience. I’m an assistance dog handler myself, and my journey with Yoshi showed me just how powerful a well-supported human–dog partnership can be — not just in skills, but in confidence, safety, and everyday life. I work with pet dogs, therapy dogs, and assistance dogs, supporting both dogs and their humans through calm, ethical, and relationship-centered training. I have a particular passion for working with owner-trainers and creating neurodivergent-friendly learning spaces where people feel safe, understood, and never judged. My approach is practical and real-world focused. Training should fit into your life — not add pressure or overwhelm. Whether you’re starting with a puppy, navigating challenges, or building foundations for future work, I meet you where you are and move at a pace that supports growth for both ends of the lead. At YoPaws, it’s not about perfection. It’s about connection, confidence, and growing together

About Our Lessons
Our sessions are about more than training — they’re about building understanding, confidence, and trust between dogs and their humans.
We support pet dogs, therapy dogs, and assistance dogs, with a strong focus on owner-trainers, neurodivergent-friendly learning, and practical, real-life skills that matter day to day.
Sessions are calm, flexible, and tailored to you and your dog. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach here — we meet you where you’re at and move at a pace that feels safe, achievable, and supportive, whether you’re starting with a puppy, working through challenges, or building foundations for future work.

Loving the adult swim classes - Yvette is so empowering and wonderful. She makes it feel lighthearted and fun so you’re willing to just give it a try. She has been the only teacher to get me even remotely near being able to freestyle!
Yevette is a very experienced swimming instructor. She has a lot of patience and you will feel comfortable with her. I highly recommend Yevette.
