I was fortunate to have many willing and knowledgeable mentors while working on my Bachelor of Science, Software Engineering degree at the University of Colorado at Boulder as a non-traditional student. Since graduating in 2008 I've always had work, and enjoyed working in a number of sectors and environments from financial technology with strict regulation, standards and oversight to small teams that require a "whole system" approach, and even a couple start-ups that require a 'make it work and ask questions later' attitude.
