Marissa and I was met as teammates back in Cyprus playing our years there mostly on the same teams.
I was always admiring her for the extra effort in the gym, in the weight room, always practising with boys and trying find herself in a challenging position to get better and that's why she made her first Women's 1st division final appearance in her 17th year. Years passed and she follow coaching too (as I) so we have the privilege to cooperate as colleagues. Can't express how much admiration and look up she was getting from young ones and especially from young girls ,since she was already named captain of the National team being leading it on its first gold medal.
In our team summer camps Under the guidance of the Great coach manouselis (assistant Coach of Olympiakos Peraus BC) she was the one demonstrating all the hard ball handling and finishing exercises . Her skills overcome some on men's professional players as Coach said!
As a colleague I recall coaching u14 and under girls with excellence and also abroad since she is continuing her great career in UK, Germany, Australia, Greece as pro player and coach and as the Creator of the "Her Game" individual skills program for young athletes.
