About Duarte
I’m a professional double bassist and RNCM graduate, where I studied Double Bass Performance. Since graduating, I’ve worked as a freelance musician with the BBC Philharmonic, and I was also appointed Double Bass Junior Fellow at the RNCM.
I’ve taught students through RNCM projects, Stockport Youth Orchestra and ARCO, working with different ages and levels.
I enjoy teaching because I like helping students understand the instrument, build confidence and discover what they enjoy about playing. My aim is to combine the experience I’ve gained as a performer with a relaxed, friendly and supportive approach to lessons.

We can work on technique, sound, musicality, repertoire, auditions or simply becoming more confident on the instrument. I’m a friendly and patient teacher, and I want lessons to be enjoyable while still helping you make real progress.
