About Soham

I am an International Chess Player with a peak FIDE rating of 2114 and over 10 years of competitive experience. My journey in professional chess includes ranking in the Top 50 globally (U-15) and competing in World Chess Championships.

Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering at Jadavpur University, I bring a structured, analytical approach to my coaching. For the past two years, I have successfully coached ranked players in their age groups, dedicated to helping students define their values and achieve their strategic goals.

I believe that chess is more than just a game—it is a powerful way to develop critical thinking, patience, and strategic planning skills that apply both on and off the board. My teaching approach is personalised and engaging, designed to combine classical tactics with modern digital tools.

In a typical lesson, we will focus on more than just theory. I ensure students gain practical experience through interactive sessions and online analysis. I create dedicated studies and materials for my students to practice and act as a practice partner to help you test new strategies in real-time.

These lessons are designed for students of all levels, from beginners to ranked players. With over 10 years of experience as a professional player (Peak FIDE 2114) and a background in coaching competitive age-group players, I work sincerely with students who are eager to learn and exhibit strong values.
