About Emily

I am a professional artist. I specialise in drawing and painting. I have a degree in painting and a Masters in drawing. I have 5 years teaching experience.

About the class

My teaching methodology is mainly based on the individual with an emphasis on exploring and developing one's own creative flare and unique style. The approach is with exercises and processes to encourage this focusing on drawing from observation, people, still life and using stories and other materials as a springboard into the imagination.

Emily's response
Lessons were bought for Molly via Mark as a gift. Molly is a very dedicated student, very focused and a pleasure to teach. Molly does a great job at not only learning the techniques and processes but also developing them into her own unique style through drawing and painting. A fast learner as a beginner in drawing and painting.

Emily was really great. Lessons were clearly communicated and well planned, with outcomes based on my interests. Subjects were easy to understand in theory and in practice.

Being friendly and approachable, Emily has a lovely manner of teaching. I will certainly be coming back for more lessons in the future!

I’m absolutely loving the personalised art classes with Emily! I was craving doing some art but was feeling pretty blocked and uninspired. I told Emily exactly that and she created a five lesson plan to help loosen me up and get those juices flowing! Each class we focus on a different thing and do exercises to try out techniques or materials and then do a main piece. The techniques are great and I’m finding myself doing more art outside of the classes inspired by the work we’ve been doing :)

I do £30 an hour or £40 for 90 minutes (1 hour and a half). Giving a discount of £5 for the extra half hour.

Please message me if you are interested in 90 minute classes.

Usually students find 90 minutes a more comfortable time and pace as the first hour can be warming up and processing exercises. By the last half hour students can feel they are embodying the techniques into their art.
