About Jared
Hi, I'm Jared, an actor and theatre-maker based in Manchester. I have toured nationally and delivered theatre workshops everywhere from primary schools to prisons. I've also worked extensively as a private tutor, both individuals and for groups in the corporate sector. I love helping children and young people facilitated young people achieving their best performances and have worked with a number of youth theatres and schools. I studied acting at the Newcastle Theatre Royal under Phil Hoffmann, where I trained in classical and contemporary text as well as physical theatre. Further training included Shakespeare (under Michael Corbidge, RSC), improvisation (Paula Penman), voice (Ros Steen) and acting for screen. I also studied under voice coach Yvonne Morely-Chisholme and hold a BA in Linguistics from the University of York.

I offer one-to-one tutoring for LAMDA exams, drama school auditions or general development of theatre and performance skills. In our first session we'll discuss your goals and create a plan of action to effectively meet your needs. Together we will explore text work, vocal practice, characterisation, physicality and performance technique to help you deliver your best performance when it comes to exam or audition time. I'll share what I've learnt as a touring actor and theatre practitioner, and together we'll apply it to your work. I offer tutoring for all ages and levels, and for LAMDA exams in acting, Shakespeare, musical theatre (acting coaching only) as well as speaking verse and prose, and reading for performance.
