About Lynette
I did not enjoy school as a child as I was scared to try new things for fear of failure. I believe this is what drives me to help students learn and help them gain that confidence needed to have a go.
I am approachable, enthusiastic, patient and very experienced . In a classroom setting I deal with large groups of children with different needs, skill levels, personalities and learning styles. It is important to adapt each new task for each individual child to achieve success. In a one on one situation the ability to target the individual's needs becomes much more achievable and therefore much more opportunity for success and confidence building. I look forward to meeting new students and the opportunity to problem solve together.

My approach is based on the individual's needs. I will spend the first lesson getting to know the student and what their specific needs are. My lessons are ideally half hour to 45 minutes depending on the age of the child. I prefer a hands on or tactile approach with lots of books, games and interaction between myself and my student.
I have worked in Primary schools teaching for 20 years and have taught all subject areas of the Victorian curriculum . I have worked with students who have special learning needs and need the lesson to be adapted to suit them. I have worked with students who have English as an alternative language. I teach children from Prep to grade six but would also be confident to teach adults who want to learn to read and write in English. more proficiently.
