About Dr Prashant
Respected all,
It is my pleasure to introduce myself; Dr. Prashant Hiremath MSc, PhD (Organic Chemistry). I have completed my Doctoral work, thesis entitled “Development of green protocols for the synthesis of heterocycles, amino acid derived heterocycles and their biological applications” under the supervision of Prof K. Kantharaju, PG Department of Chemistry, Rani Channamma University, Belagavi, Karnataka, India.
I am well experienced in the field of Synthetic organic chemistry (Green chemistry), rapid synthesis, agro-waste derived catalyst usage, eco-friendly approaches, and facile synthesis of biologically potent heterocyclic molecules of both N- and O-containing compounds. My doctoral program was mainly based on the establishment of novel green catalysts, their characterization and their application for the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds which have gained huge scope by their pharmacological applications. I have profound interest in applying green chemistry principles in synthetic organic chemistry and biological studies. In addition, eagerly looking forward for an opportunity to further enhance my knowledge and abilities.
Much of my work have been published in prestigious national & international journals (14) peer- reviewed publications including an Indian patent [Filed and published] and a RSC book chapter. With four and half years of research experience, attended and presented my work in various national and international conferences. Also bagged one best oral and three best poster presentation prizes for the best presentation.
Also, experienced in teaching field for 3 years & 10 months, worked as a Lecturer in PG Department of Chemistry, JSS college, Gokak for 8 months, Lecturer in PG Department of Chemistry, Maratha Mandal college, Belagavi for two year (2014-15 & 2020-21), Lecturer in UG Department of Chemistry, JSS college, Vidyagiri, Dharwad for one year, Presently working as an Assistant Professor in PG Department of Chemistry, KLE Society’s R. L. Science Institute, Belagavi since August-2021.
