I am a recent graduate, having concluded my Politics and Philosophy degree at Manchester University earlier this year. I studied A Level Mathematics, French and History, for which I received A*, A and A grades respectively. I am tutoring to save some money to go travelling next year before I begin my Masters.

I am flexible in my teaching style. I will shape my lessons around tackling the specific topics students would like to improve on. I will apply the rough lesson structure of first teaching a skill, then working through exercises alongside the student, followed by giving them exercises to complete independently. This process will be repeated until the student feels confident with the subtopic and I feel confident of the student's ability.
In our first session and regularly afterwards I will discuss what students are aiming to achieve with them or with a parent/carer. I would recommend every few weeks or before an exam, a student completes a practice (past) paper. This can either be assisted in a tutoring session or independently. I can then go through this in my own time. In the following session, I can go over specific areas for improvement with the student which will be identified in the past paper. This is also a good way for me to identify any subtopics of the curriculum which might be more challenging for the student, especially ones which might not be the most challenging but are still areas for improvement.
