Possesses fifteen years of pipa performance experience, holding a Grade 10 certificate. With six years of teaching experience, they offer both home visits and face-to-face lessons.

I am an experienced pipa (Chinese lute) and Mandarin teacher based in Sheffield. I have been playing pipa for many years and have taught students from 7 to 60 years old, from complete beginners to more advanced learners. My teaching style is very patient, supportive and structured – I like to break down techniques clearly and help students progress step by step.

As a performer, I have played at events such as the Sheffield Spring Festival Gala and concerts organised by the Confucius Institute, so I can also share real stage experience, including musical expression and performance skills. In my lessons, you will not only build a solid technical foundation, but also learn the stories and culture behind the music. I offer lessons in Mandarin or English, in Sheffield or online.
