About Renee
It is my joy to come alongside students in their first experience of learning an instrument, or in taking their musicianship to the next level. I first taught piano informally over 15 years ago, and since that time I have worked to develop the skill of understanding where a student is coming from musically and how to best help them to improve their skills and their confidence.
I have taught in formal and informal settings, played and sung as part of a touring choir and for informal ensembles of various styles from jazz to gospel, and provided accompaniment for vocalists at the university level in private lessons and recitals.
I continue to grow as a musician through exploring different genres and new instruments.

Music lessons can be rewarding and enjoyable for anyone, and it is possible to learn a new instrument no matter your age or current skill level, so I aim for lessons that introduce the foundational elements of playing from the beginning, and equip learners to use the eyes, the ears, and the hands to make music on their instrument of choice.
