Physics PhD with classroom experience teaches physics and astronomy using a step-by-step problem-solving method

Dr. Swisher and I were in the same physics PhD program at Carnegie Mellon and taught several classes together there. Later, I had the opportunity to visit her classroom and meet some students when she taught dual-enrollment physics at Arlington Tech. I can confidently say that she’s a superlative teacher. Her greatest strength is in provoking students to build intuitive foundations beyond the mathematical equations; strong intuition, in my experience, is the hallmark of any successful physics student, and she knows how to bring that out in anyone regardless of where they’re starting from. She’s also highly organized and deliberate, with plenty of experience teaching both for enriched understanding and, ultimately, passing exams. I would highly recommend her for anyone looking to improve their grades and/or knowledge in the physics classroom.
