About Peter

I have about 4 years of part-time tutoring experience in St. Louis, MO for a private company and, in Edwardsville, IL for SIUE. I have additionally about 3 years of part-time and periodically full-time experience (2014 - 2017) with online or primarily online tutoring employers. I began my own online tutoring business in June 2017.

I have a B.S. in Mathematics (SIUE), an all-but-thesis graduate coursework toward an M.S. in physics (SIUE), an M.A. in Physics (Washington U St. Louis), and a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics (Washington U St. Louis). I also have a postdoctoral fellowship in Theoretical Physics in Germany (Universitaet Tuebingen, Institut fuer Theoretische Physik – Department of Theoretical Physics) in my background. I took the required classes for a B.S. in physics during and after my B.S. in math but did not receive a degree. I am two classes away from completing an M.Ed. in Secondary Education/Mathematics (UMSL), but it is now too late to complete.

I have spent two years teaching problem sessions in college or university physics. I have taught the first semester of college physics several times at junior colleges. At a university, I have taught physical science five times.

About the class

Lessons require active participation of the student. Topics covered in a lesson depend on the student's current needs. Concepts or questions about homework or labs are encouraged. Practice outside of lessons is highly recommended for maximum performance on exams and quizzes.

High school students study AP physics. I have experience tutoring AP Physics 1 and 2, and both AP Physics C courses. College students taking either college physics, typically without calculus, or university physics with calculus. I can tutor any of those courses.
