About Filip
I am a second-year dean's listed Mechanical Engineering student at Imperial College London with a passion for space exploration. While in high school I was a finalist of the Polish Olympiads of Astronomy and Physics and a scholar of the Minister of Education of Poland. In Polish A-level equivalents (Matura exams) I scored 100% on physics and 98% on Mathematics. Currently, at college, I have received a First-Class Honours grade for the first year and was listed on the dean's list. Also, I was awarded a Mechanical Engineering Prize for Outstanding Academic Performance in Mechanics (one of the core subjects). I have already been giving classes to groups of younger students from physics and maths in my free time, helping them understand physics, mathematics and space exploration and sparking their interest in these fields. Also, I am an experienced 24/7 tutor for my younger sister:) But academia aside, I run space-related projects with other students. Currently, I am leading a team at our Space Society, which is developing an interstellar solar sail. While in high school, I and my team have competed in CanSat competitions and we even managed to run our own experiment aboard the International Space Station. In my spare time, I also train mountain biking and piano.

When teaching I focus on understanding the topic we are learning about instead of "learning for the test". This principle has allowed me personally to do well in my studies and it always paid back in future years, when more difficult content came in. I always prepare myself before the lesson and then I usually introduce the theory and reasoning behind the topic we are going through. After that, we progress with more and more difficult problems until the student feels confident with the material. I have taught many younger students both in groups and personally in this way with very positive feedback so I believe this approach does pay off. I teach at A-level, GCSE and primary levels and the lessons are 1-hour long by default.

I had physics lessons with Filip. He’s a great tutor, always willing to help. He patiently and clearly explains what one might have problem with or is new to them. Filip puts a lot of thought and devotion to every lesson, and is ready to answer any questions. After his lessons I reckon anyone willing to learn something about physics could rely on him.
I had classes physics classes with Filip and I have to say that they were very good. He was always prepared for the classes and always had a creative way to explain physics (he made short animations, drawings or presentations). Overall very nice and honest person. Very satisfied. I really appreciated his calm and personal approach to teaching.
