About Francisco
I am a Brazilian physicist with a PhD from Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ) and am currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Brazilian Center for Research in Physics (CBPF).
I have long experience in private tutoring, mostly for high school students. I have also taught physics and chemistry to young adults in pre-university courses.
I have always found it easier to start with everyday situations or some of the students interests and connect them to physical concepts before getting into the more technical and mathematical aspects. However, it is always important to get to the mathematics in a way that the student feels as comfortable as possible, being aware that there will be a few challenges along the way.

I chose to adapt my style to each student. I usually try to use whatever specific problems or exercises the student has the most trouble with as a starting point for teaching actual concepts. However, that is only one way to go, and it really depends on each individual character.
Just as examples of how adaptable I can be, I can list my recent experience teaching science to kids through experiences and advising high school students on a vocational program focused on physics. In both experiences, I had to translate very advanced concepts into the language of different age groups.
My classes can be to help a high school or university student struggling with mathematics or physics, boost interest in mathematics or science for kids, or help physics undergraduate students with their advanced courses.
