Hi, I'm Andy - a data scientist with a PhD in Economics from UCL. I love teaching because I enjoy helping students make sense of complex ideas—whether that's in economics, statistics, or data science. Tutoring allows me to share both academic knowledge and real-world experience, and I take pride in making difficult topics accessible and engaging. I'm equally happy teaching economic theory or applied work using R or Python, depending on what best supports the student’s learning. My teaching approach is highly tailored to each student’s needs. I start by understanding their goals, strengths, and gaps, and then structure lessons around problem sets, past papers, or specific questions they bring. I aim to build both understanding and confidence through active problem-solving and clear explanations. Lessons are typically 60 minutes, but I can adapt to shorter or longer sessions depending on the student's preference. I’ve taught at both UCL and LSE (while doing a PhD at the former), covering both theoretical and applied work (I'm happy to help with R/Python/Stata). Whether you're preparing for exams, working through coursework, or building applied data skills, I can help.
