About Joe
Throughout my career, I have taught a wide range of courses including introductory accounting, intermediate accounting, accounting concept I and II, cost accounting, management accounting, managerial accounting, introductory finance, financial management, statistics, research method, research method in accounting and business mathematics. Other than academic subjects, I also help and prepare students for CPA examination as I am also a Chartered Professional Accountant in Canada, Certified Practising Accountant and Certified Management Accountant in Australia. Regarding my public service, I am also a thesis supervisor in some post graduate programs and also an External Examiner and External Adviser of two undergraduate programs in Hong Kong. My commitment to delivering high-quality tertiary education has been recognized with two prestigious Best Teaching Awards in my College in Canada, highlighting my dedication to fostering an engaging and effective learning environment.

I have consistently received positive feedback from both students and colleagues for my ability to simplify complex accounting concepts and inspire a deep understanding of the material. My tactics addressing tutor students is to create an inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student’s active participation. Students are free and encourage to ask, because asking questions allow students to clarify when they stumble upon some abstract concepts that they don’t really understand. For example, how to break down the cost of an airline company / hospital / funeral services into different cost elements? How to apply internal control in a cash based service company? As a tutor, my job is to explain to you in the most concise, simple and easily understandable way and I think the most crucial and critical is – make you understand, grasp the concepts and apply them in the scenarios in your assignments, quiz and exam.
