About Amy
I'm a research scientist and study vision in marine animals. I grew up in a science family so I had good teachers growing up, and I'd like to be that person for other students. I've also participated in science outreach, so I like to make teaching fun and try to bring examples of everyday use into my teaching.

I like to work with students until they understand a topic, no matter how difficult. As a research scientist, I have to understand a wide range of science and math and so I am able to teach all of them. I'm from the US and went to high school and undergraduate there. I've tutored at the University of Queensland and I've also taught science classes in West Africa (ask me about it!) so I've had experience with a wide range of students. I understand that a lot of students have trouble with science and maths topics, but I promise to work with you until you feel confident in yourself. I'm a strong believer in "there are no stupid questions".
