About Joao Alves
Venezuelan violinist in the last semester of the Bachelor of Music mention: Violin from the Universidad Centroccidental Lisandro Alvarado with 10 years of experience as a private violin teacher in institutions such as El Sistema de Orquestas de Venezuela and currently professor of the violin chair at the Vicente Emilio Conservatory Sojo from Barquisimeto (Venezuela).
I have participated in different national orchestras such as the Duaca Children's Orchestra, the Duaca Youth Orchestra, the Aroa Youth Orchestra, the Barquisimeto Youth Orchestra, the Lara Symphony Orchestra, the Vicente Emilio Sojo Symphony Orchestra, the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra, the Central-North Orchestra and various plus.
Trained in the National System of Children and Youth Orchestras and Choirs of Venezuela, at the Lisandro Alvarado Centroccidental University and at the Vicente Emilio Sojo Music Conservatory in Barquisimeto and participated in different national and international violin festivals, taking classes with distinguished teachers such as Francisco Díaz (Venezuela), Gerónimo Isturiz (Venezuela), Ivette Ferreira (Venezuela), Jesús Sira (Venezuela), María José Orlando (Venezuela), Edgar Aponte (Venezuela), Samuel Vargas (Venezuela), Mathilde Gandar (France), Marco Ferri (Brazil), Eddy Marcano (Venezuela), among others.

¡Joao es un profesor magnífico! Para todos los niveles. En mi caso me enseño "de cero" y he notado un progreso incréible desde entonces. Llevaba cosa de un año y medio tocando de forma autodídacta, y aún tocando practicamente a diario, ya empecé a notar cierto estancamiento. Con Joao, en cuestión de meses, no exagero si digo que mi mejora en técnica, oído, interpretación junto a todo lo demás que he aprendido ya es el 99% de lo que se a día de hoy de este instrumento. También he tenido el privilegio de verle interpretar, no solo posee el talento y el conocimiento, sino que además posee la capacidad para transmitir estos a sus alumnos con facilidad.
Recibí sus clases por más de 6 meses. Siempre estuvo atento a encontrar los puntos en los que debía mejorar y se comportó de manera profesional en todo momento, doy fe de que si lo escoges como tu maestro no te arrepentirás.
Joao is a wonderful violin teacher. He has a great grasp of technique and teaches sequentially so all the basics are covered. I have advanced faster with him than my other teachers before him. I am an amateur adult player and really enjoy my lessons. I highly recommend Joao!
