About Eleanor
It brings me great joy to see people’s skills and confidence improve. At sixth form, I was an English subject leader, giving one-on-one teaching to students in both English Language and Literature. I am now studying English and Art History at the University of York, and in my spare time I write articles for The Teller, an independent feminist publication.

I am a skilled communicator who can convey often complicated knowledge and skills in an easy to understand manner. I am presentable, professional but friendly and can tailor my tuition to meet your needs and circumstances. At the end of each session, I ask the student how confident they are in the material covered in comparison to the start, allowing me to gauge whether future tutoring in that topic is necessary. I find that discussion is vital in building confidence in students, which is a cornerstone to my teaching. Individual students who I have helped in my present role find me approachable and friendly and go on to achieve better results prior to my tutoring.
