My lessons are based on standard conversational (informal) Persian spoken by mainly the middle-class educated people in Iran. I teach in three beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels: The beginner level is mostly focused on basic grammar and vocabulary and you will learn to make simple sentences and handle basic conversations. In the intermediate and advanced levels you will gradually learn more vocabulary, will make more sophisticated sentences and will be more confident in communication in Farsi. In the advanced level you will have lessons on particular subjects such as cooking, weather, houses, cities etc and thus you will learn related vocabulary and slang. All the lessons are designed and written by me and all are supported by plenty of examples from everyday life. In my class, not only yоu will leаrn Persiаn but yоu will also knоw аbоut аmаzing Irаniаn culture, music, pоetry. You will never get bored during the lessons as I cаn аlsо teаch yоu sоme eаsy sоngs in Persiаn, we will talk about delicious Iranian food (I am going to give you some recipes in Farsi as a part of lessons) and will even listen to some Persian songs!! In my class, we are practising four skills together, Listening, Writing, Reading and Speaking. I аm very pаtient аnd friendly with my students аnd usually mаke а strоng student-teаcher bond with my students. You are enjoying in my class regardless of your level and age!

  • Do you speak this language fluently because of your origins or because a teacher inspired you to learn?

Persian is my native language. As an Iranian, I was bred and born in Iran. I am a language lover. When I was a child start to learn English because I believe in *A New Language Is a New Life*. Therefore, I continued this until I came to the United Kingdom as a student, and I realised to be bilingual is very useful.
  • Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?

I believe that all cultures have beautiful things to teach us. In ancient Persia, we have many scientists, writers, and poets. One of the most famous ones is *Khayaam* to the world. If I wanted to choose one, he is *Rumi*. Rumi's influence transcends national borders and ethnic divisions in Central Asia and all Farsi speakers have greatly appreciated his spiritual legacy for the past seven centuries.
  • Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behaviour in the language that you particularly like?

In our culture, we have many traditions but one of them is Taarof. Taarof is a key part of Persian culture that can be difficult for non-heritage speakers to understand. It is the customary back-and-forth of polite gestures and cultural pleasantries used when we are giving and receiving gifts, food, money, and more. It is most common in a hospitality setting, where guests are being served by a host or hostess.
  • Why does speaking this language matter to you?

Simple, because Farsi is my mother tongue and it's important to show others how beautiful it is. Also, for me, it is a pleasure to teach my language to those who are curious about your culture and language.
  • 5) What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?

Farsi is not as hard as you think. It's the easiest language to learn as there are lots of similar English and Frech words we use in conversation. Obviously, there are different words but when you start learning you will see it's not hard. The hardest part could be the Persian alphabet which is not based on Latin. Another difficulty when learning Persian is the difference between colloquial and written language but I try my best to teach simple and easy ways to my students.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your language learning or your days at school.

Years ago, when I was a schoolgirl near our home there was a big shop and they were selling fine Persian nuts and sweets. One day I went there to buy some sweets and saw many tourists came to the shop to buy products but no one in the shop could not speak English and I saw they are struggling to communicate with them. At first, I was shy to tell them I can help a bit but finally I decided to help. At that point, I realised a new language opened a new world for me.
  • How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?

I travelled a lot because of my job. I was a journalist. I met many people in different parts of Iran that they are speaking different languages. So, it was vital to me to know a few words. Still, if I want to go somewhere as a tourist, I prefer to learn a few simple sentences.
  • What makes you a Superprof in language?

I was a student and I know how could be difficult to learn a new language. I share my knowledge and experience with all my students and teach them how they can improve their language because I was a language learner, and I knew the barriers and difficulties before. I am asking my students about their goals and their needs, and I am writing lessons for each individual, that's why many students gave me positive feedback and that's why I am here in Superprof.
