About Jasmine
I'm a practising artist as well as a tutor with a broad range of teaching experience from upper primary to adult education, through working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities in a variety of settings, working and volunteering in a museum and art gallery, and supporting my peers at university at the same time as working as a Residential Assistant (2014-2017).
On top of having a wealth of practical skills including drawing, painting, Adobe suite, sculpture, design, film-making, and both digital and darkroom photography, I have substantial knowledge of the History of Art, Theories around Art, and History of Design. I have a high level of research skills and a sound knowledge of the Harvard Referencing system, and am confident in teaching all I know.
I am a warm and cheerful person who enjoys working with people and is passionate about learning new skills.
I survived a stroke as a teenager so I have a good understanding of life both with and without a disability, which allows me to empathise with most students. My stroke has left me with a stammer, but I am extremely articulate and have good use of body-language and expression. I am also learning British Sign Language and am able to use it to converse with others.
