About Sarah

Key Lessons was formed in 2018 by Sarah Rowe. A pianist and clarinetist who has been performing her entire life time. After dedicating countless years and hours studying and mastering her instruments she started teaching at Gibson’s. While teaching young children and adults well into their 70s she realized their was a niche for busy families with multiple kids. It’s hard driving your children to soccer practice, music lessons, ballet, gymnastics, and everywhere else. Wouldn’t life be easier if someone came to your home to teach instead? That saves some families 1-2 hours of driving and waiting time in between lessons. Time parents can be home preparing dinner, doing laundry, helping kids with homework, etc. Sarah formed her own company overnight building a website that reached hundreds. She now teaches private lessons to students in their own home so families do not have to travel. She currently travels to students homes in Monroe and Wayne county having close to 70 students! Key Lessons has 4 prestigious teachers with over 300 students. They offer Piano, Guitar, Violin, Voice, & Clarinet. They work with several young children that are on the spectrum and work with those that deal with severe anxiety, ADHD, and dyslexia. They also works with adults who have early onset Alzheimer’s and arthritis in the fingers. Music can be soothing, a great stress relief, helps with memory and memory loss, and can help build muscle strength.

About the class

I have a strong belief in teaching students how to read notes from the very first lesson. Reading notes sets students up to succeed and thrive. The goal is for all my students young and old to get to the point where they can sit down and play any song put in front of them with minimal to no mistakes. Good reading and sight reading skills will help a student to learn whatever instrument they choose to in life. We also focus on music theory at the end of each lessons. Music theory helps students to grasp everything they are learning to a fuller extent and helps them to succeed. As time goes on we work on writing music if that is something a student desires and focus strongly on playing technique. We travel to all areas throughout Monroe and Wayne County NY to teach in Students homes.

Perfect! The owner is responsive and kind. She got us set up with Sean to teach my daughter. He has been great...so positive and kind as well. You can tell he really loves music and teaches in a way that makes it fun. I would highly recommend!
