Hello My name is Thobile Gumede, and I am a Master’s student in Public Health with an Honors degree in Psychology. I currently work as a Prevention Coordinator in the HIV/AIDS sector, where I focus on promoting health, preventing the spread of HIV, and improving mental health and well-being. As an enthusiastic master’s student in Public Health and with an Honours degree in Psychology, my approach to tutoring is centered around creating a supportive and engaging learning environment tailored to each student’s needs. I focus on building a strong understanding of core concepts while also promoting critical thinking and practical application. My teaching style is interactive and student-centered.
I adapt my lessons based on the student’s individual learning style, whether they prefer visual aids, discussions, or practical exercise. I aim to make complex public health and psychology concepts accessible and relevant to real-life situations.
I teach in English and isiZulu.
Each lesson begins with a brief discussion on the topic at hand to gauge what the student already knows and clarify any misconceptions. I encourage students to ask questions and think critically, using real-life examples to make the material more relatable. At the end of each session, we review key points, and I provide practice questions or mini-assessments to reinforce the lesson.
