I obtained my Higher Diploma in Foundation Phase teaching in 2000 and completed a number of years as a Grade 2 teacher at Saxonwold Primary school in Johannesburg.
My love for teaching as well as my desire to be an integral part in facilitating learning and development amongst young children, has given me a great deal of job satisfaction. I believe that the foundation phase is key to a young child’s future development and growth.
I moved out of a school teaching environment to embark on a career in e-Learning and training development. I am committed to ensuring that my clients understand the value of continuous development of staff. Staff growth through training and development is essential. Working in an innovative and forward thinking e-Learning environment, has assisted in me in being able to showcase the benefits of learning and development. Establishing long term partnerships with clients is vital and adopting a client for life strategy is a priority.
I believe that my strong communication skills and passion for education assist in keeping learners engaged and ensure that there is an uptake of knowledge while enjoying the learning experience. I pride myself on the desire to continuously grow and develop within my professional and personal capacity.
In my part time capacity I have started a small farm school in the Northern Cape working with farm workers children to teach them basic reading and writing skills. The children’s ages range from five to 11 and none of them have attended any formal school or been given the opportunity to read or write. It has been a demanding yet exceptionally rewarding experience.
Teaching is most not just a job but a calling.

When teaching young learners online, it is essential to build a rapport. Without your physical presence in the classroom, it is important for me to establish a virtual presence at the very beginning of the eLearning journey.
My learners need to feel comfortable and confident in the e-Learning classroom environment to ensure that they engage openly and participate in all activities as they would be encouraged to do in a traditional classroom setting.
it is important to keep lessons engaging and interactive. In order to hold a learner’s attention and ensure the maximum uptake of knowledge. I ensure that learners participate in activities and engage with me on an on-going basis.
Visual aids and interactive e-Learning sessions, make learning enjoyable and successful.
Feedback is an essential component of all effective e-Learning engagements. Continuous and constructive feedback throughout the lessons is vital. It is important to keep lessons fairly short to ensure performance and productivity
