I have a BA in East Asian studies with a focus on Japanese and completed the Princeton in Ishikawa language intensive. I recently returned from studying in Japan and have tried out numerous study techniques and apps. Adult students wishing to learn Japanese leisurely or dip their toes into a new language, I believe Japanese is about learning the customs and mindsets as grammar. The student will start by learning basic words and phrases and discuss a culture point at each lesson. We will also introduce the 3 alphabets gradually. I want students to be interested so while we can follow the basic Genki I textbook, I am also open to discuss other materials.
