About Sai Thanay
Hi! I'm an engineering student at the University of Oxford, and having recently completed my secondary education, I'm well aware of what it takes to make lessons engaging and useful, while avoiding the pressures of a school environment. In my own time at school, good teachers were few and far between. Now that I have the opportunity, I want to try and rectify this problem for as many people as I can, and make sure that nobody else suffers through the same situation that I did. I want students to feel comfortable to ask questions and take chances in my lessons and will do my best to make sure they feel that way.

Maths and physics are subjects that I find are best tackled through "doing." As such, I primarily teach through worked examples and guided practice.
I first explain the underlying method and reasoning, then spend the majority of the lesson working through practice problems to help consolidate understanding and work on exam technique. Having recently finished secondary school, I know exactly what it takes to learn, understand and apply content in exams.
Lessons are typically one hour, and are 1-2-1. I make sure to tailor all of them to my student.
Alongside Maths, Further Maths and Physics, I also offer interview prep and personal statement review sessions for those applying to competitive universities, using my own experience of the process to guide students towards making successful applications.
