About Gastón

Teacher with more than 6 years of experience, teaching classes for all ages. Graduated from the popular music program at the Adolfo Ábalos Institute with a specialty in guitar. I took classes with great guitar, singing and drums teachers for more than 9 years.

Among the references who were part of my teaching are Jorge Armani (Guitar), Mario Orbe (Guitar), Julia Sanjurjo (Singing), Barbie Martínez (Singing), Javier Puyol (Drums). These great musicians with extensive experience have trained me with very valuable learning, which I am willing to share with you.

I have my own Home Studio where I dedicate myself to making musical productions. For this reason, we can learn to use production programs (DAW) both for your personal projects and as a tool to record exercises that arise from classes.

After many years of teaching classes and having hundreds of students, I have developed an online method in which students learn in a didactic and fun way, knowing the structure of music and the piano, or deepening them from the first class. .

Online classes allow us to connect to and from all parts of the world. Thus, I am lucky to have students in Spain, Germany, England, the United States, Chile, Mexico, Uruguay, among others.

- In our classes we can study the following aspects of your interest

Technique, scales and chords: technical exercises, fingering, scales, cycle of 5ths, coordination exercises, chords, American cipher, arpeggios, diatonic chords, inversions.

Accompaniment techniques for piano applied to popular music: chord distribution, closed and open arpeggios, stride piano, voicing, sectional harmony, walking bass. Working on rhythmic patterns of different styles.

Development of popular repertoire for solo piano: for those students who are interested in incorporating themes into their repertoire, using the previously mentioned techniques.

Arrangements: intended for those people who want to make arrangements of their compositions or a specific song, either for their group or for solo piano. Form of work: the student presents the theme he wants to arrange, it can be in sheet music (cipher and melody) or by playing the song on the piano.

The harmonic and melodic analysis is carried out, and different arrangement possibilities begin to be tested on each part of the song. In this way the arrangement is developed, taking into account the student's tastes and the intention they want to give to the song. When finished, the arrangement is written on individual sheet music.

Improvisation: phrase concept, variations, motifs, pentatonics, blues scale, jazz language, improvisation scales, modes, altered chords, alternative paths, patterns, ornaments, pop and Real book repertoire. Beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.

Complementary piano: accompaniment, scales, basic harmony, cipher reading and melody. Aimed at those musicians whose main instrument is not the piano (singers, drummers, etc.), and are interested in incorporating basic piano knowledge, either to accompany themselves, compose or incorporate the piano as a second instrument.
