About Devmin
Hi, My name is Devmin and I have a strong passion for Maths and Physics which is why I have pursued it further at A-Level and now onto doing Civil Engineering at University
I want to teach students as I know how hard Maths and Physics can be especially when the topic is new. But I know with the right support, the subjects can be much more manageable. Therefore, I want to use my recent experience and my knowledge to help others doing their GCSE's to overcome the difficulties they may face.

I believe the way to genuinely improve and succeed at GCSE Maths and Physics is to develop an understanding of the concepts rather than simply memorising them. Therefore, with regards to how I help my students develop this understanding, I begin by presenting and explaining examples of the topic/concept clearly and step by step. I also encourage questioning as I explain in order to develop a much more complete understanding. Then, to check and reinforce this understanding, I ask students to complete exam-style questions while explaining their thinking. This allows me to identify mistakes and teach them how they can rectify them, making sure they are confident in answering questions in actual exams. As well as this, at the end of every session, I will give a small piece of homework on the covered topic, which will help to further develop their understanding.
My lessons last for 1 hour, as I believe that this is enough time for a sufficient amount of teaching and practice to be covered while not being so long that it becomes difficult to consistently concentrate.
I have recently completed my A Levels, gaining a very good grade of A in both Maths and Physics, and will be studying Civil Engineering at university. Therefore, as well as having obtained the highest GCSE grade of 9 in both Maths and Physics, I understand the subjects to a high level. This allows me to explain difficult concepts to students in a way that is easy to understand, while also being able to share tried-and-tested exam and preparation strategies that helped me to achieve very strong grades.
So, whatever a student's goals are in GCSE Maths and/or Physics, whether it is to pass or achieve the highest grades possible, I am confident that I can help them to reach them.
