Assesses the existing nursing practices. Identifies mandatory education, training and re certification requirements for all nursing staff.
Develops education plan. Participates in planning the staff development program and course outline in conformance with program objectives and accreditation standards.
Identifies and trains preceptors in each unit.
Schedules classes, evaluates programs and adjusts as necessary, and maintains current, accurate records of personnel attendance/participation in educational programs.
Lectures and gives classroom demonstrations on subjects and illustrates using audiovisual equipment, models, etc. Instructs and demonstrates the nursing care of patients in the nursing units.
Observes and evaluates staff performance in actual nursing situations and assists, guides, and instructs as necessary
