About Yein
Hello! My name is Yein Sim, and I am currently pursuing a Master of Music degree in Cello Performance at the New England Conservatory in Boston under the guidance of Professor Lluís Claret.
I began studying the cello at the age of six and have nearly 19 years of training and performance experience. I completed my Bachelor's degree in Cello Performance at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music at the National University of Singapore under Professor Li-Wei Qin.
Throughout my musical journey, I have performed in solo recitals, chamber ensembles, and orchestras, collaborating with musicians from diverse backgrounds and musical traditions. These experiences have shaped my musical perspective and strengthened my passion for both performing and teaching.
In addition to performing, I have experience teaching students of different ages and levels, including ABRSM exam preparation. I believe that every student learns differently, and I enjoy helping students build strong fundamentals, confidence, and musical expression in a supportive learning environment.
Whether you are a beginner picking up the cello for the first time or an advanced student working toward specific goals, I look forward to helping you grow as a musician while enjoying the rewarding journey of learning the cello.
