About Majka
Having an international husband, my kids grew up in a bilingual family and I greatly enjoyed being a part of their learning journeys, especially guiding them towards speaking Slovak with me and my side of the family. I also find travelling incredibly enriching. This resulted in speaking 5 languages so that I could talk to the people I meet and even build meaningful relationships with them. Learning languages helps me put myself into my adult students' shoes, too. Whatever your story, I am excited to be a part of it and lead you to your Slovak goals.

Welcome! I offer online Slovak lessons for both children and adults. You can look forward to practical lessons, focusing on conversation and daily situations, while sneaking in grammar and new vocabulary. I also always tailor them to the student's goals and personality and ensure we're having fun. Interested? Let's first have a free 20 min chat about technicalities, my teaching style, as well as your goals and possible questions. This is followed by a 30 min trial lesson with the student (you or your child) to make sure it's a great fit before starting. This is also free of charge. Talk to you soon!

Perfect! Majka is a really good teacher! Her English is excellent, and she is very experienced and professional. We have been working on various different foundations of the language and she is very encouraging and very clear.
Perfect! Majka is very sweet and understanding. She helps with both pronunciation and grammar and I felt very comfortable learning with her despite my accent. She is open to hearing feedback and will adjust to your learning style to the best of her ability :)

Perfect! Majka has been Slovak tutor for my two children for few years now. They both (10,13) absolutely love her lessons. She is very patient, tailors each lesson to what they would like to talk about but at the same time she has ongoing structure that they follow. Visiting grandparents in Slovakia is a pleasure, they both communicate much better now and want to learn more. I already recommended her to few of my friends from mixed marriages, she is great with kids.

Majka is an amazing teacher! I started as a complete beginner and she made it so easy for me to learn naturally.
She is very patient and is great at explaining things in detail. She has perfect English and Slovak so when I wanted to start learning Slovak to speak with my partners family she was amazing help.
I would absolutely recommend Majka as as Slovak teacher, she is great!Majka is a great Slovakian tutor. I was almost a complete beginner to the language and I found the pronunciation very hard. Her patience and teaching style has given me so much confidence to try and communicate in Slovakian. She adapts easily towards your learning style and is very flexible to fit lessons in around work. Highly recommend!
Majka was my first ever language teacher and I cannot recommend her enough. She helped me build up my confidence and achieve fluency in Slovak by paying attention to where I struggled or excelled and customising my learning plan, while maintaining the lessons playful.
