About Chris
My name is Chris, and I am an experienced ESL teacher with over 17 years of teaching in schools, universities, and community programs. I hold a Master of Science in Curriculum Design & Instructional Technologies from SUNY Albany, where I specialized in cultural diversity and contextualized teaching, and a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education and French from Le Moyne College. I also studied abroad in Québec, which deepened my understanding of language learning from the student perspective. Throughout my career, I have worked with learners of all ages and backgrounds—from children beginning their first words in English to adults preparing for academic study or advancing in their careers. I have designed ESL curricula for K-12, adult education, workplace English, and literacy-level learners, always focusing on practical communication and building confidence. My teaching style is student-centered and adaptive. I use real-life topics, interactive activities, and supportive guidance to make lessons meaningful and effective. I believe every student can succeed with the right encouragement and personalized approach. Outside of teaching, I enjoy history, writing, gardening, and spending time with my family.
