About the class

With 30 years of experience teaching in a variety of educational establishments and situations, I have been commended throughout my career for my authoritative, knowledgeable and openly receptive approach to students under my tuition. I am a specialist in music exam prep; listening and appraising.
From an early age I have always had a passion for all kinds of music and studied piano and guitar, as well as formal music theory and history up to, and at, university in Bath. After graduating from university with a BA music degree I decided to continue my training and become a fully qualified teacher gaining Post Graduate Certificate in Education, allowing me to teach in schools as well as privately and in colleges. I gained further qualifications at postgraduate level by gaining a Post Graduate Diploma in Humanities specialising in musicology and music research. This has given me essential skills in tutoring students at university level.
